Kid Cudi took the stand on day nine of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial.

The rapper and actor, born Scott Mescudi, arrived at Manhattan federal court on Thursday, May 22, casually dressed in blue jeans, a white T-shirt, a black leather jacket, and he was smoking a cigarette.

Kid Cudi, 41, told the court Combs allegedly broke into his Los Angeles home in late 2011 after the mogul found out he was dating the music mogul’s on-off girlfriend Cassie Ventura, according to the Associated Press.

The “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper said he was out with Cassie when he got a call from Diddy’s assistant Capricorn Clark saying the mogul and an associate were in his house and had forced [Clark] to go with them.

“She sounded near tears,” Cudi said about Clark. He called police.

Break-In
Kid Cudi told the court he rushed home and called Combs on his way there. He said the mogul told him, “I want to talk to you.” But once he arrived at his house in the Hollywood Hills, Combs and company were gone.

The Cleveland native said he noticed his surveillance cameras “had been moved” and weren’t not working. Someone had opened Christmas presents he bought for his family. “And my dog was locked up in the bathroom.” After the break-in, he said the dog was “jittery, on edge all the time,” as if it had been abused.

Car Explosion
A few weeks later, the rapper said his Porsche erupted in flames while it was parked in the driveway of his home.

A prosecutor asked, “What was your reaction to your car being set on fire?” Cudi recalled saying, “What the f–k?”

Evidence photos showed someone had cut a hole in the fabric roof of the convertible and there was a Molotov cocktail in the passenger seat.

Cudi then dropped a bombshell in court. He met with Combs about the insanity!

“I’d reached out to Sean Combs and said, ‘Let’s talk, this is getting out of hand,'” the rapper testified, according to a court  transcription by journalist and attorney Matthew Russell Lee of Inner City Press.

Diddy Denies Torching Car
Kid Cudi said his manager and Diddy’s associate D-Roc set up the meeting at celebrity hotspot Soho House. When he arrived, Diddy was “standing there like a Marvel supervillain,” he said.

The prosecutor asked what the mogul said to him. “He said we were homies. ‘You know that is my girl,'” Cudi testified. His response to Combs at the time: “I thought you had broken up.”

Kid Cudi said the mogul was calm and offered him water, twice. It’s unclear if he drank it.

Cassie, now 38, was there and told Combs she and Kid Cudi had fallen in love. The rapper then asked Combs about his car and the explosion.

“He said, ‘I don’t know what you are talking about.’ I walked away,” Kid Cudi testified.

Cross-Examination
During cross-examination, defense attorney Brian Steel asked Cudi if Cassie had given Diddy his home address. “Yes,” the rapper replied.

Steel also wanted to know if police ever told him if they had taken any “action” on the car fire. “No,” he said.

The attorney told Cudi he was “played” by Cassie and the rapper agreed.

The prosecution followed up by asking Cudi what Cassie had told him about alleged abuse at the hands of Combs.

“That he would hit her, sometimes kick her,” he responded.

The rapper said he and Cassie decided to end things. “The drama, it was getting out of hand. I wanted to give space,” Cudi testified.

“What drama?” the prosecutor asked. “The break-in, for my safety, her safety,” he replied.

Last week, Cassie told the court she and Kid Cudi parted ways after Diddy discovered their relationship and lost it.

Cassie said she started using a burner phone to communicate with Cudi so Combs wouldn’t find out.

During a “freak off,” she said Combs noticed she had a burner, went through it, saw Cudi’s information, and exploded.

She told the court the mogul lunged at her with a wine opener in his hands, but she escaped. She alleged Combs eventually beat her up and left her with bruises.

She also testified that the mogul issued a threat, telling her: “Scott’s car would be blown up.”

Kid Cudi said Thursday that he ran into Combs a few years after his car exploded and the mogul apologized.

“He said, I’m just sorry for all that bulls–t.’ I was surprised, so I found peace with it,” Cudi testified.

Combs, 55, is charged with five felony counts including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The indictment lists arson under the racketeering charge.

The mogul pleaded not guilty to all charges. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to life in prison.
