Kelly Rowland is doing press to promote her new Netflix film Mea Culpa, not to talk about Beyoncé or Destiny’s Child.
The singer and actress reminded the hosts as much during a recent appearance on Atlanta radio station V-103.
Rowland and her Mea Culpa co-star Trevante Rhodes stopped by the hip-hop and R&B station to discuss their new thriller from director Tyler Perry.
Hosts Big Tigger and Jazzy McBee asked several questions about the movie, along with how Rowland and Rhodes celebrated Valentine’s Day.

Later in the interview, Tigger asked about Beyonce’s next projects and a potential Destiny’s Child reunion.
“Your sis just dropped a whole new couple of songs, and it’s my understanding that Renaissance II may or may not be country-based, and then there’s a rumor going around that Renaissance III may be rock-based or a DC reunion,” he said to the former Destiny’s Child member.
“That is her business to talk about, not mine,” Rowland said, then winked.
“I know that you all are tired of answering those questions, but for fans like me, for a Destiny’s Child reunion… we still gotta ask every time,” Jazzy McBee added.
“I know, but just ask them. I’m here talking about Mea Culpa, out Feb. 23. That’s what I’m most excited about right now,” Rowland said.
The nearly 15-minute interview was posted on YouTube Feb. 20, just days after Rowland walked out of the Today show.
On Thursday, Feb. 15, she appeared on the 8 a.m. hour of Today to promote her new film. She was slated to co-host the fourth hour of the show with Hoda Kotb while Jenna Bush Hager was on vacation.
The New York Post, which was the first outlet to report on the incident, said Rowland bailed on her second Today appearance because her team wasn’t happy about the size of her dressing room. Her abrupt exit left Kotb “scurrying” to find a new co-host, a source told the Post.
Earlier today, TheWrap reported Rowland left Today for a different reason.
“Kelly was offended that Savannah [Guthrie] repeatedly and aggressively asked her about Beyoncé,” a source told the outlet about Rowland’s 8 a.m. appearance.
“The story was spun that Kelly didn’t like her dressing room, but she has been on the Today show numerous times, she and her team know the dressing room set up. That would not come as a surprise at all,” the individual said. “Kelly was upset about Savannah’s aggressive questioning about Beyoncé. She and her team were not happy and felt disrespected.”
TheWrap said Rowland has a pre-interview agreement, telling outlets she shouldn’t be asked about Beyoncé or Destiny’s Child, but the entertainment website noted that Today does not typically agree to pre-interview stipulations.
