The Dymally International Jazz & Arts Festival returns to Carson, California on Saturday, April 27.
This year’s headliners include African musician and five-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo along with co-headliner Stanley Clarke, who is a bassist and founding member of the band Return to Forever.
Other performers in the lineup are South African singer-songwriter and guitarist Jonathan Butler; Grammy-winning singer Judith Hill; and saxophonist Teodross Avery.
“The Dymally International Jazz & Arts Festival is not merely a concert, it is a destination that celebrates creativity, innovation, and the timeless legacy of jazz music,” Dr. Anthony Samad, founder of the festival, said in a statement. “We invite you to join us for an unforgettable day of performances, meaningful connections, and shared experiences that will stay with you long after the final note has been played.”

The main stage will be hosted by comedian and actor Capone and culture commentator Roland Martin.
The day-long festival will also include a marketplace showcasing works by Black artists.
The Dymally International Jazz & Arts Festival launched in 2019, to promote artistic culture in honor of the late Mervyn Dymally, a trailblazing politician from Los Angeles, who was the first African-American to win statewide office in California.
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit university programs, including the California State University, Dominguez Hills CSUDH Presidential Scholars, the African American Leadership Training Summit, and the Dymally Fellows Program for students of color interested in careers in politics and social justice.
The festival is produced by Rainbow Promotions.
It runs from 1pm to 9pm on Saturday, April 27 at the Dignity Health Sports Park Tennis Stadium in Carson.
