Sean “Diddy” Combs won’t be leaving prison as early as he thought.
The music mogul’s release date has been pushed back and he’s now scheduled to leave Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey on March 2, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) website.
That’s nearly six weeks later than his last reported release date of Jan. 21, 2028.
The change comes after NBC News aired a bombshell report last month alleging the Bad Boy Records founder was living a “pampered” life behind prison walls.
NBC reported Combs had a rotating group of fellow inmates hired to do chores like cooking, cleaning, making his bed, doing his laundry, and giving him Chinese-style massages.
The outlet said he even had access to Hennessy, contraband cellphones, and explicit photos sent in by a former girlfriend.
NBC published photos and video of Combs appearing to be holding a cellphone.
The outlet interviewed four inmates who were housed in the same unit as the fallen mogul, including one who cooked for him on makeshift heating elements to prepare curry chicken, pizza and empanadas. The outlet agreed not to publish the men’s names so they could speak freely.
“This is not some normal s–t you see in jail. This is some rich s–t,” one of the men said.
Sources told NBC that Combs allegedly shelled out thousands of dollars a month for his personal prison staff.
The money was reportedly sent in by people working on Combs’ behalf outside prison, who would deposit funds into other inmates’ commissary accounts for personal services.
Combs rep Juda Engelmayer blasted the report as fake news.
“The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs’s life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news,” Engelmayer said. “The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court’s decision on his appeal.”
Shortly after the the story broke, Combs was reportedly placed in solitary confinement pending the outcome of an investigation into the claims.
The BOP declined comment on the latest change in his release date when contacted by People this week and said: “For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including reasons for a change in release date.”
The mogul is serving a 50-month sentence after he was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
His attorneys filed an appeal of the sentence. A federal appeals court heard oral arguments in April but has not yet issued a decision.
Combs’ initial release date was for June 4, 2028, but it was moved up several times before this latest change, with officials citing his good behavior.
He is also said to have taken part in the Residential Drug Abuse Program, known as RDAP, at Fort Dix. Eligible inmates who successfully complete the program may receive a reduction in their sentences.
