GMA3 co-anchor Eva Pilgrim is going to Inside Edition, while DeMarco Morgan is going…

This fall Pilgrim replaces Deborah Norville, who retired from the popular syndicated program in May after 30 years in the anchor chair.

“Anchoring Inside Edition is truly a dream job,” Pilgrim said in a statement on Monday, July 7. “I have been an avid viewer and fan of the show for many years. I’m pinching myself that I get to work with this amazing team. It’s truly an honor to join a show with such a long, rich history.”

Pilgrim and Morgan began hosting ABC’s GMA3 in 2023, following the departures of Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes, amid an affair scandal between the hosts who were both married to other people at the time. ABC said the two were sidelined to avoid “distractions” after they became tabloid fixtures.

The third hour of Good Morning America launched with hosts Michael Strahan and Sara Haines in 2018. Actress Keke Palmer was added as a third host in 2019.

Earlier today, the New York Post obtained a copy of an internal memo from ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic, telling the staff that Morgan “will be departing” the network along with Pilgrim.

The outlet reported ratings for GMA3 have declined — losing about 400,000 daily viewers since the show’s 2023 rebrand — and ABC is looking for ways to “cut costs.” The show had layoffs earlier this year.

Morgan did not respond to the outlet’s request for comment on his next move. He previously worked as a morning news anchor at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.

Pilgrim was a senior national correspondent at ABC News based in New York.

She will be the fourth host of Inside Edition, after David Frost, Bill O’Reilly, and Norville.

“We feel like we won the jackpot to have Eva join our team as the next anchor of Inside Edition,” said executive producer Charles Lachman.

“She has solid news chops from her years as a reporter and anchor in national and local news, plus a warm relatability that resonates with audiences. We look forward to having a journalist of her caliber take Inside Edition into its next chapter,” Lachman added.

Entering its 38th season, the show is the No. 1 syndicated newsmagazine and reaches 9.4 million weekly viewers, per distributor CBS Media Ventures.
