What sounds like an opportunity of a lifetime leads to terror for Chlöe Bailey in the upcoming Peacock thriller Strung.
The singer and actress leads the cast as a talented violinist who accepts a live-in job tutoring the daughter of a powerful family.
“The type of money they’re paying, it’s the perfect opportunity,” Bailey says in the trailer.
Emmy winner Lynn Whitfield plays the family matriarch who lures Bailey into the family’s house of horrors.
When the tutor meets her student, the little girl is wearing a mask that completely covers her face. The caring instructor says she worries about the child, but Whitfield warns: “We don’t pay you to worry.”

According to the official description, Bailey’s character will ultimately “question her safety, her dreams, and even her sanity.” The cast also includes Lucien Laviscount, Anna Diop and Coco Jones.
Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man franchise) directed the film from a script by Alan McElroy (The Vampire Diaries).
“I love a good suspense thriller and a solid narrative that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats,” Lee said in a press release Wednesday. “I hadn’t had the privilege of directing a film in this genre, but when I read Alan McElroy’s script, I knew I had to dip my toe in this water.”
The filmmaker added, “Strung draws you in with a combination of lush visuals, captivating performances and a riveting soundtrack that captivates viewers – that is, if your heart and nerves can withstand the suspense.”

Lee also produced the film alongside horror movie king Jason Blum, Tyler Perry, Tim Palen, and Dominique Telson.
The thriller comes from production companies Peachtree & Vine and Blumhouse, in association with Blackmaled Productions.
Strung is set to premiere June 26 on Peacock. You can watch the trailer here.
