‘1000-Lb Sisters’ Star Caleb Willingham’s Cause of Death Released

Seven months after 1000-Lb Sisters star Caleb Willingham died at age 40, his cause of death has been released.

Caleb passed away on June 30, 2023, his brother shared on Facebook at the time, writing: “I can’t believe I’m even making this post, but today GOD called my big brother home. R.I.P. Caleb Willingham.”

On Friday, In Touch reported it obtained Caleb’s autopsy report from the Sandusky County Coroner’s office in Ohio. The report said he died from complications of super morbid obesity. His manner of death was listed as natural.

Known to viewers as “Killa K” and “Double K,” Caleb was the husband of 1000-Lb Sisters co-star Tammy Slaton.

The TLC series follows the lives of siblings Amy and Tammy Slaton, whose combined weight is over 1,000 pounds. The show premiered in 2020, and chronicles the women’s efforts to lose weight in preparation for bariatric surgery.

Caleb was originally from Evansville, Indiana.

He met Tammy while undergoing treatment at a bariatric rehabilitation center in Gibsonburg, Ohio.

Their wedding took place at the facility on Nov. 19, 2022, and was televised on the show’s season 4 finale.

Tammy was escorted down the alter in a wheelchair. Caleb was also seated in a wheelchair and shed tears as she made her way to him.

“When I finally see her, my heart explodes,” he said in the episode.

Following his death, Tammy shared a tribute to her husband on Instagram.

“RIP sweet angel, you will forever be missed,” she wrote on July 1, and thanked Caleb for showing her “real love and happiness.”

TLC addressed Caleb’s death on the season 5 finale of the show, which aired this week on Feb. 6.

The episode showed Tammy describing how she learned about Caleb’s death.

“Out of nowhere, a text message come through from his friend Dan from the rehab center,” Tammy said. She recalled the message saying, “Caleb’s unresponsive and no pulse. I immediately was like … ‘What? This can’t be true.'”

Caleb passed away just six months after the two were married.
