Perez Hilton is making progress after his mental health crisis, but family members want him to take the time he needs before returning home, his manager says.

Talent manager Dante Rusciolelli of Golden Artists Entertainment shared that update with The Blast in a story published on Sunday, Nov. 1.

“I’ve spoken with Perez’s family, and he’s doing better. He’s been making progress in treatment, and everyone wants to see him back home with his kids. But they also know how important it is to give him the time he needs to get there,” Rusciolelli exclusively told the entertainment news outlet.

“They’re happy with how far he’s come and really appreciate everyone who’s been rooting for him,” Rusciolelli added.

The update comes three months after the celebrity blogger was hospitalized following an alarming Aug. 4 incident at his Miami-area home.

Sheriff’s deputies responded after receiving multiple calls from people concerned about Hilton’s safety during a TikTok livestream, as Urban Hollywood 411 previously reported.

Last week, a recording of the 911 call Hilton’s sister Barbara Lavandeira made that day was released to the media. In the recording, Barbara told a dispatcher her brother was having a “meltdown,” and she had taken his children and her own child out of the house.

“He is all cut up and I can’t tell from where, but he is covered in blood,” she told the dispatcher.

Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., was hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act, which allows an involuntary emergency psychiatric evaluation for up to 72 hours. His family later said he needed surgery for the wounds he suffered during the incident and faced a long recovery.

A Florida judge granted his mother temporary legal custody of his three children as he recovers. The ruling allowed supervised visits with a therapist or an approved family member once Hilton receives psychiatric clearance.
