Grammy Award-winning singer Lionel Richie has been hospitalized again, this time after performing in St. Louis, Missouri.

According to TMZ, which first reported the hospitalization on Monday, Aug. 31, Richie checked himself into a local hospital after a Saturday night performance at The Muny. He was admitted to the intensive care unit to undergo tests.

The concert was a one-night-only performance and served as the finale of The Muny’s summer season.

Sources told TMZ doctors were looking into possible dehydration and were hopeful Richie would be released on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

During Saturday’s show, witnesses said Richie appeared to struggle near the end of the performance. While singing his finale son, “All Night Long,” he reportedly asked his crew for a chair and continued performing while seated.

Urban Hollywood 411 reached out to Richie’s representatives for comment, but they did not immediately respond.

The hospitalization comes after the 77-year-old singer experienced a similar health scare earlier this summer.

As previously reported in June, Richie cut a concert short in St. Paul, Minnesota, after feeling dizzy. He was rushed to the hospital after leaving the venue.

The singer’s next show is scheduled for Sept. 26 in San Francisco. The show is a rescheduled date for his joint Sing a Song All Night Long tour with Earth, Wind & Fire.

The American Idol judge has additional performances scheduled through January 2027.
