The first set of performers has been announced for the 2026 Essence Festival of Culture.
The star-studded roster includes music legend Patti LaBelle; R&B divas Brandy & Monica; plus rappers Cardi B and Latto; and singer-songwriter Kehlani.
Essence made the announcement on Monday, March 9, in celebration of Women’s History Month, saying the performers will take the stage as part of the festival’s evening concert series.
This will be Cardi B and Latto’s Essence Fest debut. The other artists are returning fan favorites.
The festival is among the largest African-American cultural events in the U.S. and draws thousands of people each year to New Orleans, Louisiana.
The gathering launched in NOLA in 1995, marking the 25th anniversary of Essence magazine and celebrating Black culture.
The 2026 Essence Festival of Culture takes place July 3–5 in New Orleans. Tickets for the evening concert series are now on sale. You can find more information on the festival’s website.
