Peter Thomas wants fans to know he’s no longer in federal prison.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum posted a video to Instagram on Thursday, Feb. 26, celebrating his release.

The 64-year-old Bravo star smiled and grooved along to Atlanta rapper T.I.’s new single “Let ‘Em Know.”

The braggadocious track includes the lyrics “My foot up on the gas/ I’m blowin’ money fast (Better know)/ I’m on these haters’ ass/ I know these ni–as mad (Better let ’em know).”

Several people commented on Thomas’ post, “Welcome back.”

Earlier today, TMZ reported he is now under “community confinement supervision” of the Miami Residential Reentry Management Office — meaning he’s either living in a halfway house or on home confinement.

The Bureau of Prisons did not immediately respond to Urban Hollywood 411‘s request for information on Thomas’ release following his conviction for tax evasion.

On July 2, 2024, the Department of Justice announced Thomas had pleaded guilty to one count of failure to pay “trust fund taxes” for employees of his PT Media, LLC between 2017 and 2023.

The businessman was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison in December 2024, and ordered to pay the IRS $2,526,131.99 in restitution, as previously reported.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in North Carolina said Thomas collected millions of dollars in taxes on employee wages at his restaurants and nightclubs in Charlotte, Miami, and Baltimore.

Instead of turning the funds over to the IRS, prosecutors said he used the money to fund a lavish lifestyle — including $2.5 million in cash withdrawals, plus “$370,000 for travel and real estate purchases, and more than $250,000 on retail purchases at Neiman Marcus, Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Givenchy.”

In court documents, the feds accused Thomas of trying to “deprive the Federal Government of funds used to provide important retirement and disability benefits.”

In May 2025, Thomas shared a reflective post on Instagram just before reporting to prison.

“This is a new chapter in my life… accountability & responsibility, my road to redemption. I have 3 Black sons, and I must lead by example, also for my 4 beautiful grandsons, this life ain’t easy, but we’re resilient, and your granddaddy is a KING,” he wrote. “God Bless, and by the way, I didn’t just find God in my time of troubles, I was raised this way.”

He included a picture of the sign outside Federal Correctional Institution Miami.

Thomas was married to RHOA star Cynthia Bailey from 2010 to 2017. He appeared alongside his then-wife on the Bravo series and their wedding was featured on season 3 of the show.
