Don Lemon is counting down the days to his live streaming New Year’s Eve block party.

The journalist and streaming sensation is taking his digital show on the road for what’s being billed as “Don Lemon Live: New Orleans New Year’s Eve.”

To help usher in 2026, the Louisiana native will be joined by local musicians Big Freedia, Glen David Andrews, the Treme Brass Band, and other special guests.

“You asked for it…you got it,” Lemon said in a statement on the Eventbrite page for the celebration.

Organizers say there will be “No rules, no bosses, no script. Don is coming home – loud, unapologetic, and unfiltered.” The event will stream from two locations in the Big Easy — The Spotted Cat and d.b.a.

The “no bosses” comment reads like a dig at Lemon’s former employer, CNN, where he helped co-host the network’s boozy NYE celebrations.

Lemon posted news about his block party on Instagram and included a compilation reel from CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcasts. The wild broadcasts included the newscaster getting an ear pierced on live TV, throwing beads into the crowd, and popping out of a box. At one point, he told former co-worker Brooke Baldwin, “Our bosses are sitting at home going, ‘No!'”

Meanwhile, CNN is promising to ring in the New Year with an “unforgettable” broadcast from Times Square, hosted by Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen at 8 p.m. ET.

Lemon launched his independent “The Don Lemon Show” in 2024, following his departure from the cable news network a year earlier.

“Lemon Live: New Orleans New Year’s Eve” begins streaming on Dec. 31, at 5 p.m. ET on YouTube, Twitch, Substack, Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
