A scary moment unfolded Thursday at the Wicked: For Good premiere at Universal Studios Singapore, when a fan assaulted Ariana Grande.

The man jumped over a barricade, ran toward Grande, put his arm around her shoulders, and pulled the startled singer and actress close to him.

Her co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly reacted by rushing between the two and pushing the man away. The security team was slow to react, viral videos of the incident showed.

Grande appeared shaken as the aggressive fan stood next to her and grinned. Actress Michelle Yeoh comforted her co-star while security took the man away.

Social media users identified the man as Australian “stage crasher” Johnson Wen.

People magazine reported he is known for making a scene at celebrity events. The outlet said Wen jumped on stage during a Katy Perry performance in August, and recently crashed the stage while The Weeknd performed before security took him away.

Wen posted a video of Thursday’s incident on Instagram and captioned the post: “Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You.”

Other social media users filled the comments section and criticized his behavior.

The cast of the film was walking down the carpet and waving to screaming fans when the incident occurred.

Grande has been vocal about experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after the deadly 2017 bombing inside Manchester Arena at her concert in Manchester, England.

“It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it’s a real thing,” she told British Vogue in 2018 about the psychological effects after the bombing, which claimed 22 lives.

“I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry,” she said.

The actress has not yet commented publicly on the incident in Singapore.

Wicked: For Good is the second film in the franchise from director Jon M. Chu. The fantasy musical will be released in theaters on Nov. 21, in time for Thanksgiving and is expected to top the box office.
