Just in case his sought-after Trump pardon falls through, Sean “Diddy” Combs would like to be housed at a “low security” prison near New York City for the next couple of years.

The music mogul’s legal team filed a memo at the federal courthouse in Manhattan on Monday, Oct. 6, saying Combs wants to serve the remainder of his 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, located in Fort Dix, New Jersey.

“We respectfully request that the Court strongly recommend a designation facility to the Bureau of Prisons in Mr. Combs’ Judgment,” defense attorney Teny Geragos wrote in the memo addressed to U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian.

Geragos said Combs selected FCI Fort Dix because it offers a residential drug abuse program (RDAP), along with “educational and occupational programs.” Another benefit, it’s just an hour and a half drive from New York City, so he can “maximize family visitation.”

The facility is described as a “low security federal correctional institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp,” on the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) website.

The decision is ultimately up to the BOP, but what Diddy really wants is a pardon.

President Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday that the mogul’s legal team has appealed to the White House for help.

“A lot of people have asked me for pardons,” Trump said via USA Today. “I call him Puff Daddy, he has asked me for a pardon.”

On Friday, Judge Subramanian sentenced Combs to 50 months in prison, or 4 years and 2 months, for his conviction on two prostitution-related counts.

The mogul will be credited with 13-14 months of time served, since he was booked into Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center after his arrest in September 2024.

He was denied bail multiple times and has only left the jail for court appearances.

The judge handed down the sentence after members of the Combs family made tearful statements in court. Diddy got emotional and put his head in his hands as his daughter D’Lila Combs, 18, addressed the judge.

When it was his time to speak, the rapper and producer told the judge, “I’ve been humbled and broken to my core.”

The defense played an 11-minute video in the courtroom, that portrayed Combs as a loving father and philanthropist.

While the judge praised the mogul for being a “self-made artist and businessman,” he noted “a history of good works cannot wash away the record in this case.”

Combs, 55, was convicted on July 2 under the Mann Act for transporting people across state lines for the purpose of prostitution. Jurors found him not guilty of the most serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

His ex-girlfriends/accusers testified about his history of violence during the seven-week trial, but they did not return to court Friday to make in-person statements.
