Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is backing comments made by BMF star Da’Vinchi over what led to the crime drama’s cancellation.

In an Oct. 2 interview on Cam Newton’s “Funky Friday” podcast, Da’Vinchi said he was “1,000 percent” sure the show would still be on air if another actor had been cast as his co-star, instead of Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr.

50 Cent joined the conversation on Instagram Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 6.

The hip-hop mogul, who executive produced the show, shared a clip from Da’Vinchi’s interview and included a caption making new allegations about Lil Meech, who played his father, Black Mafia Family co-founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory.

“No lies detected Meme was throwing up at weapons test because he was high. Spent all his money pretending to be his dad off camera, and kept getting in trouble, I’m bailing him out of jail to get him on set to shoot, and snitching on his friends. Yeah what next season lil [ninja emoji],” he wrote.

Starz officially canceled the series in October 2025 after four seasons. Although the network never confirmed why the show ended.

Detroit native Randy Huggins (Criminal Minds and Power) created the show. 50 Cent executive produced it through his G-Unit productions alongside Heather Zuhlke.

Da’Vinchi told Newton 50 Cent grew tired of off-set drama involving Lil Meech.

“Everyone was amazing. But I think that Curtis Jackson’s biggest thing was that it was just really hard to contain Demetrius Flenory Jr.,” Da’Vinchi said.

Still, the actor expressed sympathy for his former co-star and mentioned the pressure he faced playing his father.

“I got nothing but love for him, and I don’t know what it’s like to have that level of pressure,” he added.

Da’Vinchi, who played Terry “Southwest T” Flenory, said the writers were working on season 5 when the show ended.

Before the cancellation, 50 Cent clashed publicly with Lil Meech and Big Meech on social media.

Lil Meech also faced two arrests in Florida in 2022 — one over allegations involving stolen luxury watches. The second arrest came months later over a weapon found in a carry-on bag at a Florida airport. Prosecutors dropped the watch case and declined to file charges in the airport case.

Da’Vinchi wrote in a May 2022 social media post that he helped secure Lil Meech’s release after an arrest.

“I just want y’all to know we just bailed my n—a out… We gotta finish season 2,” he shared on Instagram as previously reported. Lil Meech then added, “My boy got me out though.”
