“I knew what I signed up for,” BMF co-founder Terry “Southwest T” Flenory says in the trailer for season 2 of The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast.
On Monday, Jan. 5, Starz announced the second season of the docuseries will follow Terry as he tells his side of the BMF story and why the drug enterprise collapsed.
Terry and his brother, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, rose from the streets of Southwest Detroit in the late 1980s to create the Black Mafia Family, one of the most prominent cocaine trafficking rings in the U.S.
In the trailer for the docuseries Terry says, “We come from nothing.”
He seemingly blames his brother Meech for his legal troubles that led to decades in federal prison.
“Meech brought the heat to me. What the f–k was he thinking about?” Terry asks. “I always cleaned up his mess.”
After building a multi-state drug distribution empire, the two were arrested in 2005, and charged with drug trafficking and money laundering.
On Oct.28, 2005, the DEA announced it “dealt a knock-out blow” to BMF, after arresting “30 individuals and seizing $3 million in currency and assets, 2 1/2 kilograms of cocaine and numerous weapons.”
The Flenory brothers pleaded guilty to running a criminal enterprise and were sentenced to 30 years each.
Meech was released in October 2024 and transferred to a residential reentry center in Miami. President Joe Biden granted Terry clemency in December 2024.
Per Starz, Terry breaks his silence and gives his first post-prison interview over the six-episode season, revealing “his deep bond with Demetrius ‘Meech’ Flenory, and the ultimate breakdown of their relationship as power, paranoia, and law enforcement pressure drove them apart.”
The docuseries is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Shan Nicholson, who is also the showrunner. Jigsaw Productions and G-Unit Film & Television produced the series for Starz.
News of the show’s second season comes after the network canceled drama series BMF in October 2025. The network did not give a reason for the cancellation of the hit series, but the end came as executive producer 50 Cent feuded on social media with series star Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory, who portrayed his dad.
The series also starred Da’Vinchi as Terry, alongside Russell Hornsby, Michole Briana White, Steve Harris, Laila Pruitt, and La La Anthony.
Over the years, the recurring cast included Sydney Mitchell, Kelly Hu, Myles Truitt, Kash Doll, Roberto Sanchez, Ren King, Christopher B. Duncan, Ajiona Alexus, Donnell Rawlings, Mo’Nique, and Eric Kofi Abrefa.
Perhaps Terry will address the drama that led to the cancellation on the docuseries.
Season 2 of The BMF Documentary: Blowing Money Fast premieres Friday, Jan. 16 with new episodes streaming weekly each Friday on the Starz app, and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.
