Six months after Smokey Robinson was accused of sexual assault by four former employees, two new accusers have joined their lawsuit, including a man.
The four initial Jane Doe accusers filed a $50 million civil complaint against Robinson on May 6 in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The women alleged sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, gender violence, and creating a hostile work environment.
Robinson and his wife, who was accused of fostering a hostile work environment, denied all of the allegations.
On Nov. 14, the accusers filed a motion to amend their complaint and added two more alleged victims — a man and a woman — who both claim Robinson tried to force them to touch his penis.
According to the motion obtained by Entertainment Weekly earlier today, the new accusers allege they were sexually assaulted multiple times.
New Female Accuser
One new accuser — identified only as Jane Doe 5 — alleges she dealt with “constant” harassment while working for Robinson as a housekeeper. The woman says she was employed by the Motown legend on and off between 2005 through 2011.
She alleges Robinson would frequently call her to a second-floor bathroom in his house while he was in the shower. The singer would ask Jane Doe 5 to enter the shower and scrub his back, the lawsuit says.
The complaint goes on to say “on more than 10 occasions,” Robinson allegedly grabbed the woman’s hand and tried to force her to touch his penis.
Jane Doe 5 also alleges Robinson frequently walked around the house naked and would rub his elbow against her breasts.
She says because of the “repeated sexual harassment and unwanted touching of her chest,” she became “traumatized” and “underwent breast reduction surgery in February 2015,” according to the complaint.
Male Accuser Comes Forward
The second new accuser, identified as John Doe 1, says he was hired by Robinson and his wife to detail their cars on a recurring basis at their home in Chatsworth, California in 2013.
The man alleges in the lawsuit that Robinson made “vulgar and offensive” sexual advances, but John Doe 1 says he responded by telling Robinson to “put some clothes on.”
Doe claims he was fired shortly after Robinson allegedly grabbed his hand and tried to force it “onto his erect penis.”
The man says he left the house after the incident, but the singer’s wife, Frances Robinson, called him a year later and asked him to return to work for the couple. According to the complaint, Doe agreed to work for the pair again.
But he alleges the harassment continued, causing “humiliation, emotional distress and ongoing fear for his safety and dignity.”
A hearing on the motion is set for Jan. 6, 2026.
Robinson’s Response
Robinson denied the allegations by both new accusers through his attorney, who called the entire lawsuit an “organized, avaricious campaign to extract money from an 85-year-old legend.”
“These plaintiffs are part of the same group of people who have conspired together against the Robinsons and are layering out their claims for maximum adverse publicity,” Christopher Frost, founding partner of Frost LLP, said in a statement Wednesday to Urban Hollywood 411.
Frost also criticized accusers “who hide behind anonymity,” and said the accusers’ attorneys are savoring the spotlight.
“Their attorneys seek global publicity while making the ugliest of false allegations. We have sought the Court’s intervention multiple times to require these anonymous individuals to divulge essential information, turn over relevant evidence, and to share deposition transcripts with the District Attorney,” Frost added. “Once the public can see the truth, their avaricious motives and fabricated claims will be revealed.”
Weeks after the initial complaint was filed, Robinson responded with a $500 million countersuit, as previously reported.
In his complaint filed on May 28, the singer and his wife accused the anonymous Jane Does of defamation, slander, emotional distress, financial elder abuse, and invasion of privacy.
“The Robinsons did not abuse, harm, or take advantage of Plaintiffs; they treated Plaintiffs with the utmost kindness and generosity,” the suit read. “Unfortunately, the depths of Plaintiffs’ avarice and greed knows no bounds.”
That same month, local authorities confirmed Robinson was under criminal investigation in connection with the allegations.
“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Bureau is actively investigating criminal allegations involving William Robinson aka ‘Smokey Robinson.’ The investigation is in the early stages, and we have no further comment,” the department said in a statement in May.
