Shannon Sharpe has removed a controversial statement his attorney posted to his Instagram page in April, about the woman who filed a $50 million lawsuit against the former NFL star alleging rape.
When the woman filed the complaint on April 20, attorney Lanny Davis posted the statement on Sharpe’s Instagram page, saying the suit was “filled with lies, distortions, and misrepresentation.”
While the woman was listed as an anonymous “Jane Doe” accuser in the civil suit, Davis included her name in his statement; said she was an OnlyFans model, and showed explicit text messages he said she exchanged with Sharpe.
One message purportedly from Doe read: “I know you miss this big juicy a– … $25,000 for each cheek.”

On Friday, July 18, the woman’s attorney Tony Buzbee announced the two sides had reached a settlement.
Buzbee said his client and Sharpe both acknowledged they were previously in a “long-term consensual and tumultuous relationship.”
“I’m pleased to announce that we have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution. All matters have now been addressed satisfactorily, and the matter is closed,” Buzbee added.
Terms of the agreement were not released, and Sharpe’s attorney Lanny Davis did not respond to Urban Hollywood 411‘s request for comment.
At a news conference in April, Davis said Sharpe had been in mediation with the woman and offered to pay her “at least $10 million,” when Buzbee suddenly filed the lawsuit “without warning.”
The woman said in the lawsuit she met Sharpe in 2023 at a gym in Los Angeles when she was 19 years old and he was in his 50s.
After they began to date, she alleged he became violent when she accused him of cheating.
“In October 2024, Shannon Sharpe violently sexually assaulted and anally raped Plaintiff two different times in Las Vegas, Nevada, blatantly ignoring her requests for him to stop. He did it again in January,” the 13-page lawsuit read.
“Sharpe refused to accept the answer no and raped Plaintiff, despite her sobbing and repeated screams of ‘no,’” the lawsuit alleged.
Sharpe denied the woman’s allegations and said the relationship was “100 percent consensual.”
On April 22, TMZ Sports released an audio recording of a man who sounded like Sharpe telling a woman, “I’m gonna f–king choke the s–t out of you.” The outlet said it obtained the recording from Buzbee.
Later that day, in a video statement posted to his social media platforms, Sharpe said he was being targeted by an accuser looking for a payday.
“This is a shakedown. I’m going to be open, transparent, and defend myself because this isn’t right,” he said.
