Tyler Perry’s Ruthless will return for season 6 this summer on a new streaming platform.
BET announced this week the upcoming season will premiere in June on Paramount+. The drama previously aired on BET+, but is moving as the platforms merge.
A spinoff of political series, The Oval, the drama follows Ruth Truesdale and her dealings with a scandalous religious cult.
Melissa L. Williams leads the cast. Matt Cedeno, Baadja-Lyne Odums, Blue Kimble, Colin McCalla, Michelle Núñez, Nadége August, and Joshua Adeyeye also star.
Season six unfolds with new trouble at the Rakudushis compound as Ruth’s influence over The Highest increases and loyalties begin to shift.
“With dangerous new alliances forming and the FBI escalating pressure, the road ahead promises even more twists, power struggles and jaw-dropping confrontations,” according to the official description.
Ruthless debuted in 2020, and was the first original series from Tyler Perry to stream on BET+, in a joint venture between BET Networks and Tyler Perry Studios.
Perry executive produces the series. The show’s producers include Angi Bones, Tony L. Strickland, Will Areu, and Tommy Watt. Courtney Glaudé serves as supervising producer, writer and director.
Season 6 of Tyler Perry’s Ruthless begins streaming Tuesday, June 30 with two episodes at launch and runs weekly on Paramount+.
