Remy Ma to Lead Lifetime Thriller ‘Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs’

Remy Ma has a new project in the works — a starring role in the Lifetime movie Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs.

The Grammy-nominated rapper leads the cast as Ashley Preston, a woman forced to confront her past when her life begins to fall apart.

Garfield Wilson (The Good Doctor), Aliyah Marc (Big People Tingz), and Sasha Rojen (The Dragon Prince) also have roles in the psychological drama.

When Ashley’s sister suddenly dies, she and her husband Elliot (Wilson) take in their orphaned teenage niece, Serena (Marc).

But when disturbing incidents start to happen, Ashley questions if Serena is acting out in grief? Or is Ashley’s own troubled daughter Luna (Rojen) is hiding a dangerous secret.

“As tensions mount and trust erodes, Ashley must uncover the truth before the threat inside her home turns deadly,” according to the official description.

Remy Ma previously had a role in the 2023 Lifetime movie Girl in the Closet alongside Tami Roman. The rapper also had parts on the ABC series Queens, USA Network’s Queen of the South, and Fox’s Empire.

Her new movie is based on the book My Sister’s Daughter by Liv Constantine. Navid Soofi produced the film for Studio TF1 America Inc. in association with Rohm Feifer Entertainment.

Kara Feifer, Elisabeth Rohm, Timothy O. Johnson, and Meghan Hooper White serve as executive producers. David Weaver directs from a script adapted by Crystal Verge.

Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs premieres Saturday, June 20 at 8/7c on Lifetime.

On June 13, Lifetime will air The Jealous Bride, starring Amber Stevens West (The Neighborhood and Run the World) and Michael Xavier (Wild Cards).

The film follows bride-to-be Meg (Stevens West). But as she prepares for her wedding, a lady from her fiancé Josh’s (Xavier) past returns, making Meg jealous.

“Consumed by doubt, Meg spirals into a perilous obsession that threatens to destroy her love, her faith, and her future,” the official description reads.

The film is produced by Navid Soofi for Novus Pictures in association with Studio TF1 America and Shalom Canada Productions. Troy A. Scott directs from a story by Nell Scovell and a script written by Nneka Gerstle.

The Jealous Bride premieres Saturday, June 13 at 8/7c on Lifetime.
