Fans are expressing concern for Ray J after the R&B singer turned in a troubling performance over the weekend in Louisiana.
People attending a show at Shreveport Municipal Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, Feb. 14, expressed shock when a red substance appearing to be blood ran down the side of Ray J’s face.
The singer, born William Ray Norwood Jr, was wearing sunglasses on stage, and the liquid oozed from under the glasses as he handed out roses to the audience.
It’s unclear if he was injured or if the red substance was part of an effect.
At another point in the show, the “One Wish” singer removed his shirt, and revealed he was wearing a medical patch on his chest.
Several people who attended the show, which was billed as an Intimate Valentine’s Day Concert, posted videos on social media and said they were worried about the singer.
Kelly Price, Bobby Valentino, Sammie, 702, J. Holiday, and Sunshine Anderson were also part of the lineup of performers.
Ray J’s appearance came two weeks after he said doctors told him he only has months to live as he battles a string of health problems.
“2027 is definitely a wrap for me,” the singer shared. “That’s what they say.”
Ray J made the claim about his health in a video he posted to Instagram on Jan. 27.
A friend in the video tried to reassure him. “Don’t say that brother, don’t say that,” the man told him, adding, “F–k the doctor. You’re gonna live long.”
In another video, Ray J said he was told his heart was failing.
“I am not okay,” he said. “My heart is only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be all right, so thank you for all your prayers.”
On Jan. 6, the social media star was hospitalized in Las Vegas, saying he was dealing with chest pains and a pneumonia diagnosis.
His health crisis followed an arrest in November on suspicion of domestic violence. He was banned from Twitch for live streaming a dispute with his ex-wife Princess Love Norwood on Thanksgiving day.
So far, Ray J has not posted on social media about his Valentine’s Day performance.
