A prison mishap may have led to the head injury that sent Sean “Diddy” Combs to a New Jersey hospital over the weekend.

A new report from Page Six says the music mogul accidentally “smacked his head” on the bunk bed above him at FCI Fort Dix, where he is serving a federal prison sentence.

A source told the outlet Combs struck his head on the upper bunk and is now doing much better.

The Bad Boy Records founder was transported by ambulance to an unidentified hospital early Saturday, Oct. 10. He was said to be conscious and talking while being loaded into the ambulance, TMZ reported.

Combs returned to the prison later in the say. Details about the treatment he received were not released publicly.

“We are aware of the reports concerning Sean Combs and are working to confirm the circumstances,” Juda S. Engelmayer, a spokesperson for the mogul, said in a previous statement to Urban Hollywood 411. “Sean’s health and well-being are our immediate concern, and we appreciate everyone who has reached out.”

Combs is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.

His attorneys have appealed the sentence and are waiting for a decision.

His release date is now listed as March 2, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. That’s nearly six weeks later than the previous  date of Jan. 21, 2028.

The change followed an NBC News report alleging Combs was living like a king behind bars, with fellow inmates cooking, cleaning, doing his laundry and providing massages.

NBC also published images and video that appeared to show Combs holding a contraband cellphone. The outlet said it spoke with four inmates from the prison and some alleged Combs had a “secret stash of premium liquor.”

Engelmayer pushed back on the report, saying the media was turning routine details about Combs’ prison life into news. He maintained that the mogul was following prison rules while awaiting a decision on his appeal.

The Bureau of Prisons has not publicly linked the change in his release date to the allegations in NBC’s report.
