NBC’s ‘The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins’ Gets Winter Premiere Date

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins stars (L-R) Daniel Radcliffe, Erika Alexander, Tracy Morgan)

The Tracy Morgan-led comedy The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is set for a winter premiere.

NBC recently announced the half-hour series will debut with back-to-back episodes on Monday, Feb. 23, and anchor the network’s midseason programming lineup.

Morgan stars as the titular Reggie, a disgraced former football player on a mission to rehabilitate his image with help from an award-winning filmmaker.

“To earn back the admiration of his fans and the respect of his family, Reggie will also have to confront the ghosts of his past,” according to the official description.

The single-camera comedy co-stars Daniel Radcliffe (Miracle Workers) as Arthur Tobin, the filmmaker who moves into Reggie’s house to work on a documentary about the ex-athlete’s comeback.

Erika Alexander (American Fiction) plays Reggie’s ex-wife and agent Monica. Bobby Moynihan (SNL), Jalyn Hall (Till), and Precious Way (Heist 88) have roles in the comedy as well.

NBC gave a series order to the comedy back in May. It’s produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group; Little Stranger; Bevel Gears; and 3 Arts.

Robert Carlock and Sam Means created the comedy, and serve as co-showrunners, writers and executive producers. Additional executive producers include Tina Fey, Tracy Morgan, Eric Gurian, and David Miner.

Morgan has been busy and also stars in and executive produces the Paramount+ comedy series Crutch, which debuted earlier this month.

The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins premieres with back-to-back episodes on Monday, Feb. 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT before moving to its regular timeslot the following week on Monday, March 2 at 8:30 p.m.

After the show’s Feb. 23 premiere, The Voice will begin its 29th season at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The new season, dubbed The Voice: Battle of Champions, marks a “major revamp” to the show’s format, per NBC.

The coaching panel will be feature Kelly Clarkson, John Legend and Adam Levine — making up the “only panel in the show’s history comprised entirely of Voice winners.”

For its first week of the new season, The Voice will air three two-hour telecasts on Feb. 23 (9 p.m.), Feb. 25 (8 p.m.) and Feb. 26 (8 p.m.). Then on March 2 (and after a March 4 telecast), the singing competition will air in its normal 9 p.m. timeslot.
