Family and friends will say goodbye to Celeste Rivas at a memorial service next weekend, celebrating the life of the 14-year-old girl, whose body was found in the trunk of a car owned by pop singer D4vd.

A GoFundMe page set up to help cover Celeste’s funeral costs, says the service will take place on Oct. 4. The page raised just over $24,000 and is no longer accepting donations.

The page describes Celeste as “a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend.” It says her family is “heartbroken and devastated” by the teen’s death.

The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner released her body to the family earlier this week, according to the department’s online records database.

The teenager’s decomposed and dismembered remains were found at a tow yard in Hollywood on Sept. 8. Employees at the impound lot alerted authorities about a strong odor coming from the 2023 Tesla.

Officers opened the front trunk, and found human remains inside. The vehicle had Texas plates and was registered to D4vd, 20, whose real name is David Anthony Burke.

The car was towed from the 1300 block of Doheny Place, near the house in the Hollywood Hills where D4vd lived.

It took a week for the medical examiner’s office to identify the person inside the vehicle.

Celeste’s name was released on Sept. 17. The coroner described her as 5-feet-2 inches tall, wearing a tube top, and weighing 71 pounds.

The medical examiner’s office listed her age as 15, although her birthday was on Sept. 7, the day before her body was found. Because of the condition of the remains, it’s likely she died when she was 14.

Her cause of death is listed as “deferred” pending additional tests, the medical examiner’s office said on its website.

The teenager had a tattoo on her right index finger that read “Shhh…,” the medical examiner’s office said.

Photos have since emerged showing D4vd had the same tattoo on his right index finger.

Celeste was from Lake Elsinore, California, about 60 miles southeast of Los Angeles. She ran away from home and was reported missing in 2024.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office released a missing person’s poster, saying she was last seen on April 5, 2024. The poster listed her age as 13 when she disappeared and said she weighed 120 pounds.

Law enforcement sources told some outlets she came from a “troubled home,” and ran away multiple times.

D4vd was in the middle of his first world tour, when Celeste’s body was found. His remaining tour dates have since been canceled.

LAPD detectives served a search warrant at the Hollywood Hills home where D4vd had been staying. Local news stations aired footage of plain clothes detectives carrying out a computer and bags of evidence.

On Sept. 23, the Daily Mail published an interview with the man who owns the $4 million house. He said D4vd’s talent manager, Josh Marshall, broke the $20,000-a-month lease on the property after detectives searched the house.

“They are moving out this week… the moving trucks will be here soon. They’ve decided to move out because of the ongoing circumstances. They didn’t want to be there anymore,” homeowner Mladen Trifunovic told the outlet.

According to Trifunovic, the house was rented to Marshall in February 2024, through a property management company. The homeowner was unaware that D4vd had been living at the house until his real estate manager told him about the LAPD raid.

“This has all been such a big shock. I’m still trying to process everything, and I’m anxiously waiting for the story to conclude itself… It’s very disturbing,” Trifunovic said.

Neither D4vd nor his management team has released a statement on the case. Although police said earlier that the singer-songwriter was cooperating.

So far, no charges have been filed.

The LAPD has not commented on the status of the case or the nature of D4vd’s relationship with Celeste.

The singer-songwriter  is best known for the viral TikTok hits “Here with Me” and “Romantic Homicide,” the latter of which currently has more than 1 billion streams on Spotify. He released his debut studio album Withered earlier this year.

The singer’s label, Interscope Records, and parent company Universal Music Group have stopped promoting the album and halted the release of an upcoming deluxe version, TMZ reported.

The outlet reported D4vd was paid a $3 million advance when he signed his record deal in 2022.

He was only 17 at the time and his contract was filed with the courts.

Per TMZ, the document said D4vd was initially paid $500,000. A $250,000 payment followed, before he was paid the remaining $2,250,000. The contract said he could evenutally be paid another $3 million if his music continued to take off.
