Home matchmakers and real-life husband and wife, Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, won’t be returning for a fifth season of Married to Real Estate.

After wrapping season 4 in May, the hosts announced the cancellation of their HGTV series in a joint statement this week on Instagram.

“Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean, and we’re met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate,” the statement read.

“While the chain of events leading up to this is disheartening, we are deeply grateful. Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans. Grateful that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all-grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other),” they continued.

The duo hinted that they’ll have more to share in the future.

“We’ve been here before. We’ll keep counting those blessings — and keep it moving. Stay tuned,” they said.

The announcement marks the end of a series that debuted in January 2022. Hosted by the real estate agent and the designer, it followed the couple as Sherrod helped buyers in the Metro Atlanta area find homes, while Jackson’s team led the renovations.

Following its third season, which also streamed on Max, the show drew 16.6 million viewers, according to Variety.

However, the series saw its audience decline in season 4, which premiered on March 12. The fourth season lost about 200,000 viewers from the season 3 average. Demo ratings also fell, with every episode dropping below 0.05 in the 18–49 bracket. Still, the series ranked as the fifth most popular show on HGTV.

The network also canceled Farmhouse Fixer, host Jonathan Knight shared in a June 25 Instagram post.

“A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer. I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season. While I’m still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past three seasons. Television has been so incredibly fun for us. We are so proud of what we created together and look forward to sharing what’s next for us.”

Additionally, the hosts of Bargain Block and Izzy Does It announced their shows have been ended as well.
