GloRilla is facing felony drug charges in Georgia, but her attorney says she is a victim.

Fox5 Atlanta reports deputies were called to the rapper’s home in suburban Atlanta last Saturday morning after receiving reports of a burglary and shots fired. Subsequent reports said a home invasion occurred.

The hip-hop star, born Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was not home at the time, but family members were.

After responding, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said deputies “detected a strong odor consistent with illegal narcotics.” They obtained a search warrant, and allegedly located “a significant amount of marijuana” in “plain view” in the home’s master bedroom closet.

Woods turned herself in on Tuesday and  posted a $22,000 bond. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of more than one ounce of marijuana.

The first count has a potential penalty of two to 15 years in prison, while the second carries a one to 10 year sentence if convicted. First-time offenders can be offered probation and fines as alternatives.

GloRilla’s attorney, Drew Findling of the Findling Law Firm, slammed the sheriff’s office in a statement to Atlanta news station 11 Alive.

“When her family members did the right thing and called law enforcement, instead of investigating the violent home invasion and theft at Ms. Woods’ home, they instead sought a search warrant,” said Findling. “Ms. Woods is a victim, not a suspect.”

GloRilla later released a statement on the X platform criticizing the sheriff’s office.

“Crazy!! My House got home invaded Saturday, while I was in Indianapolis performing for the WNBA All Star Game & instead of focusing on finding the suspects, they focus on some cannabis. 1. So no I wasn’t busted 2. My house got robbed 3. I wasn’t home. Long story short. my house gets home invaded and I’m the only one that gets arrested. So that’s tea,” she wrote.

The sheriff’s office insisted it is determined to find the suspects involved in the home invasion.

GloRilla had another run-in with law enforcement in April 2024. She was stopped by police after making a U-turn at a red traffic light. She allegedly failed a field sobriety test, and was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, consuming an alcoholic beverage or possessing an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, and failure to obey a traffic control device.

She was released on bond. It’s unclear if that case ever went to court.

The Memphis rapper is best known for her 2022 single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” with Hitkidd, which peaked within the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100. It was also nominated for Best Rap Performance at the 65th Grammy Awards.
