Don Lemon urged his YouTube subscribers to “fight back” against big business and the Trump administration by joining today’s “economic blackout.”
“The Don Lemon Show” host told his viewers he supports the boycott, and plans to stay at home all day.
“I’m doing It,” Lemon said.
Late Thursday night, he did a live episode of his show and counted down to midnight — the start of the Feb. 28 blackout.
“We’re in really crazy times right now and I think it’s important for people to participate and to fight back,” Lemon said. “You have to be able to sacrifice something considering what our ancestors did before us.”

While the former CNN anchor admitted he wasn’t sure how much of an impact the boycott will have, he told viewers he felt strongly about taking a stand against tyranny and big companies that support Trump administration policies.
Lemon specifically mentioned Home Depot and Walmart.
He said he planned to go live again on Friday and would be cooking breakfast during the show, though he lamented about rising egg prices since Donald Trump returned to the White House.
“Have y’all noticed the price of eggs? They were complaining about Joe Biden and eggs, now the eggs are double, if not triple what they were [under] Joe Biden,” Lemon said.
“This administration is off the chain. They are not caring about the economy, remember they were all about the damn economy… if anything, things have gone up,” Lemon added.
Friday’s one-day blackout was organized by The People’s Union USA, a grassroots group vowing to “take back control of our economy, government and future of our country.” Rev. Al Sharpton is also planning a series of boycotts.
People’s Union organizers have urged supporters to avoid major retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and Target. For those who must spend during the blackout, they said supporters should buy from small businesses.
