Sean “Diddy” Combs may get out of prison even earlier than expected.
The music mogul’s release date has been moved up again and he is now scheduled to leave New Jersey’s Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix on Feb. 5, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.
Combs, 56, was previously scheduled for on Feb. 20, 2028. No official reason has been given for this latest change.
The mogul is serving a 50-month federal prison sentence after he was convicted in July 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. A jury in New York found him not guilty of the most serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges.

The Bad Boy Records founder’s release date has changed multiple times since he began serving his sentence.
Earlier this year, the Federal Bureau of Prisons listed his release date as April 15, 2028. Before that, it was April 25, 2028, and previously June 4, 2028, according to People. At one point, he was scheduled for release on Jan. 24, 2028, as previously reported.
Combs is reportedly participating in the Residential Drug Abuse Program, known as RDAP, at Fort Dix. Eligible inmates who successfully complete the program may receive a reduction in their sentences.
Some media outlets previously reported that his early-release credits could be in jeopardy after he was allegedly involved in a fight with another inmate.
The Bureau of Prisons has not publicly confirmed the reported altercation or whether it affected his release date. There were even reports that he might transfered to another prison.
The mogul’s attorneys appealed his conviction and sentence. A federal appeals court heard oral arguments in April but has not yet issued a decision.
