Coco Jones will soon return to set for her own Bel-Air spinoff.
The actress and singer will reprise her role as Hilary Banks in the offshoot titled Hilary, which is currently in development at Peacock, Variety reported Tuesday.
The project comes from writer and producer Tracy Oliver, who co-wrote the hit film Girls Trip. If Hilary gets a series order, it would make history as Peacock’s first original scripted spinoff.
The project follows Hilary as she leaves California behind for a new opportunity on the East Coast.
“After accepting an unexpected job offer from celebrity chef Yvonne Durand, Hilary Banks impulsively moves to New York determined to prove herself beyond her Bel-Air connections — only to find that success, friendship and love in the city come with a cost she never anticipated,” the official description reads.
Bel-Air was based on Morgan Cooper’s viral fan-produced trailer, which caught the attention of Will Smith.
The Peacock series was inspired by NBC’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and followed Will’s journey from West Philadelphia to the affluent Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel-Air.
Jones played Will’s ambitious and stylish cousin on all four seasons of Bel-Air, which starred Jabari Banks in a role originated by Will Smith. The series debuted in 2022 and reimagined the popular 1990s sitcom as a modern drama.
The cast included Cassandra Freeman, Adrian Holmes, Olly Sholotan, Akira Akbar, Jimmy Akingbola, Jordan L. Jones, and Simone Joy Jones.
The series ended with its fourth season in December 2025. In an interview with Urban Hollywood 411 just before the series finale, Freeman noted that Bel-Air was the first Peacock original to reach four seasons.
The new project will be executive produced by Jones and Oliver alongside Will Smith, Terence Carter, David Boorstein and Miguel Melendez of Westbrook Studios.
Benny Medina, Andy Borowitz, Susan Borowitz, Morgan Cooper, the Jeff Pollack Trust and the Quincy Jones Estate are also executive producers.
Peacock has not announced a production schedule or potential premiere date for a pilot.
