Medical mystery series Watson will return for a second season on CBS.
The network announced Wednesday, March 26, the drama has been renewed and will return for the 2025-2026 television season.
Watson stars Morris Chestnut in the title role, alongside Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Coster, and Rochelle Aytes.
Based on the late 19th century characters created by British writer and physician Arthur Conan Doyle, the series takes place six months after the death of Sherlock Holmes at the hands of his mortal enemy Moriarty.

The drama premiered in January after the AFC Championship game. The episode was watched by 18.7 million multiplatform viewers in live plus 35 days of viewing, making it CBS’ most-watched scripted episode of the 2024-25 season, according to Nielsen data provided by CBS.
After airing in its regular Sunday night timeslot, the series has averaged 6.79 million viewers each week.
Watson is produced by CBS Studios. Craig Sweeny serves as showrunner and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Morris Chestnut, Sallie Patrick, Larry Teng, Shäron Moalem MD, PhD, Aaron Kaplan, and Brian Morewitz.
Earlier this month, CBS renewed The Neighborhood for an eighth and final season, as previously reported.
Cedric the Entertainer leads the cast of the series as a friendly guy from the Midwest who moves his family to a neighborhood in Los Angeles, where not everyone looks like him or wants to get to know him and his family.
Tichina Arnold, Max Greenfield, Beth Behrs, Sheaun McKinney, Marcel Spears, and Skye Townsend also star.
Currently in its seventh season, The Neighborhood has averaged 4.9 million total viewers (with Live+ playback) this season.
The teams behind Poppa’s House and The Equalizer are still waiting to find out if they’ll be picked up for new seasons by CBS.
S.W.A.T. has been canceled, Variety reported on March 6.
