Perez Hilton has been granted visitation with his three children, under certain conditions, after his mental health crisis and hospitalization earlier this month.

A Florida judge ruled Hilton’s children can visit with him under the supervision of a therapist or family member approved by both sides, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

A Thursday, Aug. 20, report by the outlet said the judge also officially granted Hilton’s mother, Teresita Lavandeira, temporary legal custody of his children.

The custody arrangement gives Lavandeira the authority to make decisions involving the children’s medical care, education and other needs. Hilton, who is listed as their only legal parent, reportedly agreed to the arrangement.

The celebrity gossip blogger, whose legal name is Mario Lavandeira Jr., welcomed the three children via surrogacy.

The new custody agreement will remain in place until the court alters the details or Hilton and his mother reach a new arrangement. The blogger must get psychiatric clearance before the visits with his children can begin.

TMZ reported a police report said Hilton was treated for an overdose at the time of his health crisis. He remains hospitalized in an inpatient facility, and the custody case is now sealed to protect the children’s privacy.

Hilton suffered a mental health break on Aug. 4, and livestreamed part of the medical emergency on TikTok. He was seen bleeding and holding a knife while harming himself.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to his Miami-area home after receiving “multiple calls regarding an individual who was livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media.”

The blogger was rushed to a hospital, treated for multiple wounds, and underwent an emergency psychiatric evaluation.

Hilton’s family previously released a statement saying his children were home at the time of his mental health crisis.

“Just minutes before the public livestream incident, Perez’s children, niece, and sister were inside the home,” the family said on Aug. 6. “When it became clear that Perez was experiencing a severe mental health crisis and harming himself, they immediately fled to protect the children from witnessing any further trauma.”
