A television news reporter in Los Angeles remained calm as a cockroach landed on her chest and crawled up her neck during a live broadcast.
While covering a heat wave on Tuesday, July 14, KTLA5 reporter Rachel Menitoff maintained her composure as the insect made its way across her body.
In a video shared by the station on Instagram, Menitoff appeared unfazed and continued with her story while the insect tried to steal her thunder.

At first, she didn’t seem to notice the unwelcome guest. But after it scurried across her bare skin and flew away, she began brushing herself off.
KTLA captioned the footage: “We can’t help but commend @rbmenitoff for keeping her cool when a cockroach landed on her during her live report on Tuesday night.”
Social media users filled the post with more than 12,000 comments, and many applauded Menitoff’s professionalism.
“Give that lady a raise and a promotion!! I know grown men that would have squealed at that moment,” one person commented.
“Amazingly professional under the worst case scenario! Well done,” added author and former actress Linda Thompson.
“Great job. If that was me I would have given the roach the mic. It’s his live shot now,” WDSU6 New Orleans news anchor Darryl Forges chimed in.
