Bravo Star Dr. Heavenly Kimes Suffers Election Loss in Georgia

Married to Medicine star Dr. Heavenly Kimes has ended her campaign for Congress.

Kimes conceded defeat on Tuesday night, May 19, after coming in second place to State Rep. Jasmine Clark in the Democratic primary for Georgia’s 13th Congressional District.

In a video statement posted to Instagram, Kimes thanked her supporters and said they had “built a real movement.”

“I want to take time to thank all of the people that supported me, all of the volunteers that made calls, all of the people that raised money, all of the people that helped and had hope,” she said.

The board-certified dentist congratulated Clark for her decisive victory. With husband Dr. Damon Kimes by her side, Kimes added that she is not done with politics.

“This is not over, we’re going to come back,” she said. “I’ve already called Jasmine Clark and congratulated the queen. I’m sure she’ll do an amazing job. I’m so proud of her, but I’m also proud of you. We did something different, we made history.”

In the caption for the post, Kimes wrote: “We’re going to keep fighting for affordability, healthcare, education, and voting rights. We’re going to stay together, stay organized, and keep pushing forward.”

According to Atlanta’s 11 Alive News, Clark won 56.1 percent of the vote. Kimes followed with 21.4 percent. Former school board member Everton Blair secured 11.6 percent of the vote, and  three other candidates had single digit vote totals.

Clark is a state representative, microbiologist and lecturer at Emory University. She has served in the Georgia House since 2019, and ran for Congress to replace late U.S. Rep. David Scott. Clark will face Republican Jonathan Chavez in the general election.

Kimes’ campaign was part of her storyline on season 12 of Married to Medicine. The season premiered on Bravo in November 2025 and concluded in March of this year.
