Kandi Burruss says her split from husband Todd Tucker wasn’t something that happened overnight. Instead, she admits they were having problems for “a while.”

The busy singer, songwriter, entrepreneur, podcaster and streaming host got candid about the couple’s divorce on Monday, Nov. 24, during her Amazon “Kandi Shop” livestream.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum was there for a live chat with fans about Black Friday week deals available on the platform, when fans began to ask about the divorce.

Kandi acknowledged she’s been making headlines “in the blogs,” but asked viewers to “keep it cute in the chat.”

“I’m going to be very honest with you, I am up and down,” Kandi said about her emotional state. “Obviously, going through a divorce is not the easiest thing.”

She confirmed she filed for divorce on Nov. 21.

“To be clear, yes, I filed on Friday, but this is something that had been brewing for a while,” she said. “So all the times you’ve been seeing me online [smiling], I’ve been going through it. Life is lifing me.”

On Nov. 17, Kandi picked up the “Wifetime Achievement Award” at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas, for her successful run on the network. She went through a range of emotions on stage — smiling and at one point shedding tears.

The Grammy-winning singer told fans on the Amazon livestream — just because the cameras recorded her smiling, she was feeling “sadness.”

For days, there had been speculation online that Kandi and Todd were headed toward divorce. Gossip bloggers noted that she had removed his last name from her Instagram profile, and was not wearing her wedding ring at BravoCon.

Months earlier, Kandi was asked during a May 1 appearance on “The Morning Hustle” radio show if she had a girlfriend. “No, I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m a fun girl though,” she said sarcastically.

On Monday, she told viewers speculation about her marriage, particularly on the blogs, has been difficult to deal with.

“It’s kind of hard when you see all the stuff online,” she said. “Sometimes I want to comment, but then it’s like, ‘no.'”

Despite the split, the singer-songwriter said she has “no regrets.”

So far, Todd has not directly addressed the couple’s split publicly.

Kandi, 49, and Todd, 52, were married for 11 years. They met while filming RHOA in 2011, when Todd worked as a production manager on the show. They announced their engagement in 2013, and tied the knot the following year.

They share two children together, son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 5. Each also has an older daughter from previous relationships: Burruss’ daughter Riley, 20, and Tucker’s daughter Kaela, 26.
