Beyoncé had a tense moment on stage at a “Cowboy Carter” tour stop this weekend, when a prop car malfunctioned in her hometown of Houston, Texas.
The Grammy-winning singer was performing her single “16 Carriages” on Saturday, June 28, in a red convertible suspended from cables, when the car started tilting midair, as shown in videos posted by fans on social media.
While it looked like the singer might be thrown off the car, she was wearing a harness and could be seen holding onto the cables.

Beyoncé, 43, was heard saying into the microphone: “Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop. Stop,” as the car titled.
Fans shouted: “Put her down! Put her down!”
Someone in the production team turned off the music and the car was lowered to the stage near the audience.
Once she reached safety, the singer jokingly said in another video: “If ever I fall, I know y’all will catch me.”
After the show, a rep for the singer released a statement to CBS News about the incident, saying a “technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium and see her fans up close, to tilt.”
“She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident,” the statement continued.
The performance was the first in a two-night stop in Houston.
The “Cowboy Carter” tour kicked off on April 28 at SoFi Stadium in the Los Angeles area. The tour is scheduled to run through July 26, with the finale taking place in Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium.
