The Hollywood Walk of Fame will welcome 35 new members next year, including NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, broadcast journalist Robin Roberts, and veteran actor Keith David (shown above).
The 2026 honorees come from the fields of motion pictures, television, live theater/live performance, recording, and sports entertainment.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce made the announcement on Wednesday, July 2, in a streaming ceremony on its website, and posted the names on Instagram, writing: “We are honored to welcome you to the Walk of Fame Class of 2026.”
Keith David, 69, watched the livestream with his family as actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez announced the new class.
David apparently didn’t know he was among the honorees. When his name was announced, he looked shocked, started crying and said, “Oh my God.”

Nominees are usually chosen by record labels, TV networks, movie studios, and fan clubs — that agree to pay the hefty fees involved and submit names to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Honorees have two years from the date of selection to schedule star dedication ceremonies before the offer expires.
Upcoming ceremonies will be announced on walkoffame.com, exactly 10 days before they take place in Los Angeles.
