Phone lines are down. Enemy invaders are roaming the streets. And the cops are missing in action in the trailer for BET+ thriller War Dawgz.
The intense teaser shows people going about their daily lives in South Central Los Angeles, when suddenly the ground shakes, and heavily-armed foreign soldiers invade the streets.
New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago are also under attack, but the government has seemingly left residents to fend for themselves.
Michael Beach leads the cast as “Alonzo Rocker,” a military father who returns home from deployment just as the country comes under attack.
“I tried contacting the base, but I can’t get through. It’s a terrorist attack,” he says.

With communication cut off, Rocker rallies churchgoers, mechanics, teachers, police, and even gang members unite to defend their community.
The star-studded cast also includes Kadeem Hardison, Carl Anthony Payne II, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, Walter Jones, Brandon Quinton Adams, Moriah Brown, Raven-Symone, along with Girlfriends actresses Golden Brooks and Jill Marie Jones.
Kevin Grevioux wrote, directed and also has a role in the film.
“With the odds stacked against them, the people of South Central must rise together to reclaim their home and fight for survival,” the official description reads.
War Dawgz premieres Oct. 16 on BET+. Below are details on the cast and their characters.

Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs as Lawrence Slate – A mortician with a rough edge, but a loyal heart for his people.
Walter Jones as Ed “Eddie” Ivory – A history teacher who brings wisdom and strength to Rocker’s circle of friends.
Brandon Quinton Adams as Cedric Grier – A dedicated social worker standing with his community.
Moriah Brown as Michelle Warfield – A tough and dedicated officer working alongside Sanders.
Raven-Symone as Pam – A nurse with a heart of gold and amazing bravery. The caretaker of the community who is not afraid to go to war.
Kevin Grevioux as Jericho – A war veteran, survivalist, and eccentric neighborhood figure with an arsenal to match his reputation.
