The block is hot and the griddle is sizzling in the teaser for Tubi comedy Mo’ Waffles.
The streaming platform released the trailer for the new half-hour series on Thursday, Dec. 4.
The scripted comedy is set in a new Atlanta diner owned by local hip-hop legend “Modi Fresh.” A week before the waffle joint is scheduled to open its doors, the owner suddenly vanishes.
Turns out he’s been kidnapped and the culprits want a lot of money.
“One million dollars or we start mailing pieces,” the kidnappers demand in a ramson video.
There’s no way the owner’s oddball staff can raise that kind of cash, so they try to crack the case before it’s too late.

The series stars Tina Fears, Darius Autry, Alison Haselden, Antwan Mills, Caisey Cole, George Howard Adams, Robin Jordan, Rashal James, Ashley Gill, and Grant Gibbs.
The scripted comedy comes from Stubios, a Tubi initiative to bring fan-produced projects to the streaming platform.
Robin Jordan, whose viral TikTok videos about working as a server inspired the project, serves as the Stubiorunner.
The series begins streaming Dec. 19 on Tubi.
The free ad-supported streaming service has said it’s committed to bringing more projects to audiences from popular content creators. In October, the Fox-owned streamer announced a partnership with Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Productions to produce original movies featuring content creators.
“At Tubi, we’re building a space where emerging and established creators can bring bold, breakthrough ideas to life and reach new audiences on our platform,” Rich Bloom, Tubi’s general manager of creator programs and executive vice president of business development, said in a previous statement.
The first batch of films will feature YouTuber Kinigra Deon and “85 South Show” podcast hosts DC Young Fly, Chico Bean, and Karlous Miller.
The films will begin streaming in 2026.
