President Donald Trump has added Charlamagne tha God to his list of enemies.
Trump bashed “The Breakfast Club” host in a social media post early Sunday morning Eastern Time, including calling him “low IQ.”
So what prompted the presidential tirade? Comments Charlamagne made about the Jeffrey Epstein case and the Republican party Aug. 2, on Fox News’ My View with Lara Trump.
Host Lara Trump praised Charlamagne for inviting people with different political views on his syndicated morning drive show, which reaches millions of listeners each week via radio, the internet and social media, according to iHeartMedia figures.
Charlamagne told Trump’s daughter-in-law that the president has so far done a “terrible job” in his second term.

Lara said she disagreed, then asked the radio host, podcaster and author, born Lenard McKelvey, who he’d like to see run in 2028. In terms of Democrats, he mentioned the governors of Pennsylvania, Maryland, and comedian Jon Stewart.
As for Republicans, Charlamagne said former South Carolina governor and ex-presidential candidate Nikki Halle could be a contender because there’s a “coup” happening within the GOP. Infighting Charlamagne insisted that was triggered by the Trump administration’s handling of files related to sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in jail in 2019.
“I think that this Epstein thing is going to be a way for traditional conservatives to take their party back, I really do,” he said.
“I think they know this is the issue that has gotten the base riled up. The MAGA base isn’t letting this issue go, and for the first time, [traditionalists] know they can probably take the party back and not piss off the MAGA base,” he added. “I think they’re going to do that.”
Following the interview, Trump praised Lara in a Truth Social post and called her “wonderful and talented.”
But he questioned why “racist sleazebag” Charlamagne was even on Fox News.
“Why is he allowed to use the word ‘GOD’ when describing himself? Can anyone imagine the uproar there would be if I used that nickname?” Trump wrote.
He then pulled out the “low IQ” insult he frequently uses when referring to prominent Black people, including Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas), as well as Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif), and former CNN host Don Lemon.
“He’s a Low IQ individual, has no idea what words are coming out of his mouth, and knows nothing about me or what I have done – like just ending 5 Wars, including a 31 year bloodbath between Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, where Seven Million people have died, and there was no end in sight,” Trump wrote.
He continued by falsely claiming “prices and inflation have come way down,” since he returned to the White House in January.
In just the past month, local TV stations have reported record beef prices in cities across the nation, soaring prices on electronics in Indiana, and higher prices in Iowa on Chinese-made baby items including strollers, cribs, and high chairs.
On June 25, Business Insider reported: “Retailers from Macy’s to Walmart have cited the need to raise prices after President Donald Trump raised tariffs on a variety of trading partners after taking office this year.”
The outlet noted prices have even risen at Dollar Tree stores.
“Dollar Tree said it took a $70 million hit after US tariffs on imports from China briefly reached 145% earlier this year,” the article said.
Adding to the pain, on Aug. 1, CNN reported: “The US job market slowed sharply in July and was substantially weaker than first estimated for prior months, suggesting President Donald Trump’s trade policy may be stifling hiring.”
That same day Axios published an article saying: “What appeared to be a resilient labor market now looks notably weaker than previously believed. It comes as President Trump ramps up tariffs around the world — a move that economists have warned will weaken the economy.”
