The Roots and Nas are teaming up for a massive hip-hop concert this June as part of the BET Experience.
The concert titled “A Roots Picnic Experience: A Great Night in Hip Hop” will take place on Saturday, June 27 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, BET announced in a press release Wednesday.
The Roots have a history of playing the Bowl. But this year, the Philadelphia band is co-headlining with New York rap legend, Nas, for an old school hip-hop event.
According to the Hollywood Bowl website, they’ll be joined by T.I., Bun B, and De La Soul, with additional artists to be announced soon.
BETX runs from June 25 – 27, in the lead-up to the 2026 BET Awards, airing live from the Peacock Theater in downtown L.A. on Sunday, June 28.
Popularly known as “Culture’s Biggest Week,” this year’s BETX events include the popular FanFest, a celebrity basketball game, and other events.
“BETX represents BET’s ongoing commitment to investing in Black culture beyond the screen,” BET executive Brian Rikuda said in a statement. “By bringing artists, creators, and communities together across multiple days in Los Angeles, BETX creates space for meaningful experiences centered on the voices shaping this moment.”
The 2026 BET Experience is produced by BET and Live Nation Urban. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks. Below is a schedule of BETX events announced so far.
–BETX 2026 FanFest is taking place Friday, June 26th, and Saturday, June 27th at The Beehive.
–A Roots Picnic Experience: A Great Night in Hip Hop with The Roots and Nas takes place Saturday June, 27 at the Hollywood Bowl.
