The former CNN anchor’s star has continued to rise since his arrest for covering an anti-ICE protest.
“This is about all journalists, especially in the United States.”
“I’m not going to let them steal my joy,” Lemon told Jimmy Kimmel.
Lemon spoke to reporters in downtown Los Angeles after his release.
“I will not be silenced,” Lemon said following his release from custody.
“The First Amendment exists to protect journalists whose role is to shine light on the truth,” Lemon’s attorney says.
Lemon cites his protected rights as a working journalist.
The feud started after the rapper called Lemon a homophobic slur for his reporting on an ICE protest.
The Louisiana native will be joined by local music legend Big Freedia.
