The fatal shooting of Georgia rapper T-Hood is being investigated as a “possible self-defense” case, police say.
T-Hood, born Tevin Hood, was shot outside his home in the 3900 block of Lee Rd. in unincorporated Snellville, Georgia, on Friday night, Aug. 8.
The person who called 911 said a “dispute” had taken place. Hood died shortly after being transported to an area hospital, as previously reported. He was 33 years old.
In an update late Tuesday evening, Gwinnett County police said the shooting happened after a “domestic disturbance” occurred at the home “resulting in a female victim sustaining physical injuries.”

The gunman arrived at the residence following the physical altercation, and “separated himself from the residence.” There was then some type of altercation outside and Hood was shot.
While the case is ongoing, it is being investigated as a “possible self-defense shooting,” and detectives are treating the case as a homicide.
Police said “the shooter remained on scene at the time of the incident, and both the shooter and witnesses continue to cooperate with investigators.”
Detectives are not looking for any additional suspects, and assured the public there was no threat to the community.
The names of the gunman and the woman involved in the domestic dispute have not been released. Police have so far not announced any arrets.
Meanwhile, sources told TMZ the gunman has ties to the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
According to multiple published reports and social media posts, T-Hood was said to be dating the daughter of LHHATL stars Kirk Frost and Rasheeda Frost.
T-Hood’s family members have alleged on social media that he was set up. However, there has been no indication from police that that was the case.
The rapper was best known among regional music fans after releasing the songs “War Ready,” “Girls In the Party,” and “Perculator.”
