TLC singer T-Boz gets candid about the group’s financial struggles in the 1990s.

The singer, born Tionne Watkins, sits down with the TV One interview series Uncensored, for a wide-ranging conversation about her life and career.

In a preview clip for this week’s episode, T-Boz recalled how she and the other group members — Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas — enlisted girls from a diversion program to help them confront Arista Records execs about their money.

“The rules were take everything off the wall and any desk that says TLC,” she explained.

They were unable to find Arista boss Clive Davis, but confronted another executive and demanded, “Where’s our money.”

Arista staffers quickly called in police officers, who refused to arrest the girls, but made them leave.

The group’s financial struggles have been documented in the past, including filing for bankruptcy and listing millions in unpaid debts. They blamed Arista, LaFace Records and Pebbitone for what they called shady business practices.

T-Boz also discusses living with sickle cell disease and her journey from a life-threatening diagnosis to becoming a global music star.

Formed in Atlanta in 1990, TLC sold more than 85 million records worldwide. They were known for #1 singles “Creep,” “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs,” and “Unpretty.”

Uncensored: T-Boz airs Thursday, March 12, at 8PM/7C on TV One.
