Sistas returns to BET this week with several changes.

Ebony Obsidian who played Karen Mott, and Novi Brown who co-starred as Sabrina Hollins will not be returning for season 10, the network confirmed Monday. The two had been on the show for all nine previous seasons. No reason was given for the cast changes.

KJ Smith, Mignon, and Crystal Renee Hayslett are all returning for the new season. Angela Beyince, Devale Ellis, Brian Jordan Jr., Chris Warren, and Monti Washington will also be back.

Meanwhile, Jordan Coleman and Tunde Oyeneyin are being added to the cast as series regulars.

Coleman plays “Cheyenne Barnes,” a confident hairstylist whose bold personality masks emotional scars she’s carried for years. Though driven by a desire for luxury, her reunion with her sister Andi slowly peels back layers of vulnerability.

Oyeneyin portrays “Madison Truitt,” a powerful, self-assured entrepreneur whose unapologetic ambition has helped her in a male-dominated world. Yet there’s something missing. Beneath her polished exterior lies a yearning for love and partnership.

The hour-long series follows a group of single Black women as they navigate life, love and their careers.

“The longevity of Sistas is a testament to the incredible audience who has so deeply connected to the show,” creator and executive producer Tyler Perry said in a statement.

The Atlanta-set series debuted in 2019, and is one of the most popular shows on cable. Over season 9, the dramedy was the top-rated series on cable among Black viewers for the third straight year.

“Reaching a 10th season is a significant milestone that speaks to the incredible connection Tyler Perry’s Sistas has forged with our audience,” BET President Louis Carr said in a statement.

“We are profoundly grateful for our enduring partnership with Tyler Perry, whose vision continues to deliver compelling, must-watch television, and we are equally proud of the amazing talent, both returning and new, who bring these dynamic characters to life,” Carr added.

Season 10 of Sistas is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, Jan. 7, at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT on BET, with new episodes debuting on Wednesdays. Check out the trailer for the new season here.
