As fans express disappointment that Sherri is ending, host Sherri Shepherd has broken her silence on the cancellation.
Shepherd posted a statement to Instagram on Tuesday, Feb. 3, saying she appreciates the support pouring in from friends and fans after producers announced her daytime talk show will end production after four seasons.
“Wow! I am completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for me and the Sherri show,” Shepherd wrote.
There was no mention of the cancellation on Tuesday’s episode of the program. Shepherd said the reason was because she’s feeling under the weather.
“You might’ve noticed that yesterday and today I was struggling because I wasn’t feeling up to speed. Well it turns out I have Covid,” she shared.
Shepherd said once she feels better, she plans to “address all of the news that has come out.”
“Until then, I am truly grateful that Sherri has made such an impact on you! See ya soon,” she concluded.
The post included screengrabs of comments from viewers saying the cancellation is “a shame” and the news “saddens” them.
In a joint statement to Urban Hollywood 411 on Monday, Debmar-Mercury co-presidents Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus confirmed Sherri will conclude after its current fourth season.
The two noted that the decision was “driven by the evolving daytime television landscape and does not reflect on the strength of the show, its production — which has found strong creative momentum this season — or the incredibly talented Sherri Shepherd.”
They added that they are looking for another platform for the show to continue. Production on season 4 will continue as planned, with the final episodes airing in the fall.
Sherri launched in fall 2022, and was renewed for a fourth season in March 2025. The series primarily airs on Fox Television Stations and those owned by Nexstar, Hearst, Sinclair, Gray, Tegna and Sunbeam.
In 2025, Sherri producers said the program was the No. 2-rated syndicated talk show among women ages 25-54, TheWrap reported right after the season 4 renewal.
