Ray J’s Bloody Eye Was All for Show, Event Photographer Claims

Was the “blood” real? That’s the question fans are asking after Ray J was spotted with a red substance dripping down his face at a concert in Shreveport, Louisiana

Viral video showed the “One Wish” singer handing out roses to people in the audience on Feb. 14, as a red liquid trickled from under the sunglasses he was wearing.

There was also a medical patch on his chest, making it look like he was seriously ill. Concertgoers were shocked and confused.

“He appeared to be fine, but that was very concerning to see blood, or what appeared to be blood, coming from his eyes,” concertgoer Lamesa F. told local news station KTAL 6.

Lamesa was rightfully concerned, considering Ray J was hospitalized in early January after experiencing chest pains and being diagnosed with pneumonia.

A few weeks later, he said in a video on social media that 2027 would be “a wrap” because doctors told him he only has months go live.

A Shreveport production worker/event photographer spoke to the TV station and said there was nothing to worry about at the Feb. 14 show, because the “blood” was part of a publicity stunt.

“He loves the camera. He loves the attention. Anybody that knows him, knows it’s all theatrical,” Tommy Nard II of Nard Multimedia Group said about Ray J.

Nard even gave the TV station video of the singer backstage at Shreveport Municipal Auditorium and it showed something strange.

A man resembling Ray J — and wearing an orange jumpsuit identical to the one the R&Bsinger sported on stage — was recorded squeezing a substance from a tube and applying it to his face.

Nard said he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

“I’m behind the scenes like, ‘What are you doing?'” Nard said while laughing. “I literally seen him put on the fake blood and things like that and go out there with the crowd, which was very shocking that he would do something like that.”

Reps for Ray J never responded to the TV station’s request for comment. But his manager, Melinda Santiago, did respond to People magazine.

“We all know that Ray J has been under the weather, but all my artists that work with me gotta do their job whether they are bleeding or not,” said Santiago.

Maybe Santiago missed the memo — the blood was apparently “fake.”
