OWN will start the new year with the new financial intervention series Maxxed Out, exploring the impact money problems have on families and personal relationships.

At the heart of the unscripted series is financial expert Leah Collins, whose no-nonsense approach will help participants confront crushing debt and the strain financial turmoil has placed on their lives.

“Maxxed Out isn’t just a show, it’s a mirror reflecting the financial pressures so many of us face and the ripple effect they have on our closest relationships,” said Drew Tappon, head of OWN unscripted programming and development.

“We want viewers to feel seen and understood, while also walking away with practical tools to rewrite their financial story and reclaim their peace of mind,” Tappon added.

Each episode will present personal stories drawn from real people and their financial challenges. Participants include:
-A long-married couple wrestling with conflicting money habits
-Adult children addressing their mother’s spiraling debt
-Two sisters fighting to save their family business while one faces overwhelming medical expenses.

Through interventions, Collins will offer strategies and emotional support to help the participants move forward in better financial health.

Produced by Lionsgate Alternative Television for OWN, Maxxed Out premieres Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
