A new group of southern Belles will share their reality in the upcoming OWN series Belle Collective: Birmingham.
Marking the first spinoff of the network’s long-running show Belle Collective, the new series will star Love & Marriage: Huntsville alum Stormi Steele.
The Canvas Beauty CEO returns to the network after a two-year break to focus on scaling her multimillion-dollar empire.
Steele will be joined in the cast by her CFO Amber Jones, entrepreneur Tiffaney Jones, marketing strategist Funmi Ford, model and marketer Synetta Hawkins, and talent manager K’La Inman.
Steele and her fellow Birmingham socialites are described as “driven, successful southern Belles in the rising cultural scene, who are determined to transform the city into a thriving destination for beauty and influence.”
“We’re proud to expand this powerful franchise and introduce compelling new narratives and dynamic personalities from Birmingham,” Tina Perry, president of OWN, said in a press release.
Along with announcing the new series, the network revealed the original Belle Collective returns for a seventh season on Feb. 13.
“Since its debut, Belle Collective has become a defining series for OWN, captivating audiences with authentic storytelling and celebrating the strength, ambition and brilliance of Black women in the South,” Perry added.
The new season will find the women facing challenges that test their “strength, relationships and resilience.” Tensions will reach a boiling point when Lateshia and Latrice’s feud erupts during a confrontation at Selena’s 50th birthday celebration.
Season 6 of Belle Collective was Friday night’s No. 1 original series across cable with African American women ages 25-54, according to ratings data provided by OWN.
Kingdom Reign Entertainment produces both the original show and the spinoff, with Carlos King serving as executive producer.
Belle Collective season 7 debuts on Friday, Feb. 13 at 8pm ET/PT on OWN. A premiere date for the new show will be abbounced later.
