Power creator Courtney A. Kemp is taking on a new world of crime and life-or-death drama in the upcoming Netflix series Nemesis.

The streaming giant unveiled the premiere date and first look photos on Wednesday, March 18, offering a glimpse of what viewers can expect.

The drama follows two men on opposite sides of the law — a seasoned criminal and a police detective — and what happens when their worlds collide.

Matthew Law (The Oval) and Y’lan Noel (Insecure) lead the cast of the eight-episode drama.

Series regulars include Cleopatra Coleman, Tre Hale, Jonnie Park, Ariana Guerra, Gabrielle Dennis, Sophina Brown, Cedric Joe, Jeff Pierre, and The Wire alums Domenick Lombardozzi and Michael Potts.

According to the official description, “What starts as a series that aims to subvert the heist genre at every turn, amped with thrilling life-or-death stakes, family dynamics and explosive action, actually gives birth to an exploration of what drives us, sustains us, and ultimately destroys us.”

Moe Irvin, Quincy Isaiah, Jay Reeves, Mike O’Malley, Stephanie Sigman, Khalilah Joi, Shane Johnson, Siua Ikale’o, Dawnn Lewis, Mark Feuerstein, and Chris Bauer have joined the cast in guest roles.

Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole are creators and co-executive producers of the series. The two announced their engagement on social media, with Kemp showing off her diamond ring in November 2024.

Netflix first shared details about the series in March 2025, as part of Kemp’s overall deal with Netflix.

“Tani and I are excited to bring a hard-hitting psychological crime drama to Netflix, specific in location, but broad in universal themes of right and wrong, love and loss, and loyalty vs self-preservation.” Kemp said at the time.

“Courtney’s shows have proven to dominate culture and conversation, and it’s exciting to have this be the first project from our creative partnership,” added Nne Ebong, vice president of studio scripted series, at Netflix.

Nemesis is set to premiere May 14, 2026, on Netflix.
