Tyler Lepley and Da’Vinchi to Star in Tyler Perry Firefighter Series

Tyler Perry is bringing a new firefighter drama series to Netflix.

The streaming giant announced Tuesday, production is currently underway in Atlanta on Where There’s Smoke, written, directed, and produced by Perry.

The series stars Tyler Lepley, Da’Vinci, Mike Merrill, Eltony Williams, Brittany S. Hall, Brock O’Hurn, and Karen Obilom, who all worked on previous Tyler Perry projects.

Rounding out the cast are Mariah Goodie, Jordan Rodriguez, Judi Moon, and real-life firefighter Joe Hunter.

Hunter was the runner-up on Survivor 48 and worked for years as a firefighter and fire captain in Sacramento, California.

In a press release, Netflix said it ordered 16 hour-long episodes of Where There’s Smoke.

The series joins other popular firefighter shows heating up the TV landscape, including Chicago Fire, Fire Country, and 9-1-1.

According to the official description, the Netflix series follows the lives of a group of firefighters “as they navigate the intense challenges of their high-stakes profession while grappling with personal struggles, fractured relationships, and the emotional toll of saving lives in a world filled with danger, drama, and heartbreak.”

A premiere date will be announced soon.
